What is Project Management?
Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques in projects within an organization taking into account an agreed schedule, budget and resources.
Today the term project management is sometimes used to describe an organisational or managerial approach to managing projects and some operations.
Why should I study Project Management?

What is the Project Management Institute?
The Project Management Institute (PMI) is an organization that offers globally recognized Project Management certifications. The PMI ensures project management that can enhance and accelerate organizational change. A PMI Certification is a highly sought after and valued qualification.
Employers especially value a PMI certification. For example, the credential is a guarantee that you incorporate new tools and techniques to manage projects, employ industry best practices, and follow an ethical code of conduct.
The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is one of the credentials that the PMI offers.
In order to become certified with the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional you will need to go through a credential application process. There are certain educational and professional requirements that you need to fulfill in order to apply for your PMP credential. All these requirements must have been gained in the previous 8 consecutive years leading up to your application.
